Family company

Visit Inari Oy is a family business originating from Inari. It’s roots date back almost 40 years.

In the beginning of 1980s Tapani Lappalainen and his father started organizing skiing trips, reindeer safaris and lunches in the local nature. As years passed, this one-man operation grew into the whole family’s business. In the year 2015 Tapani’s eldest sons Tommi and Tuomas became partial owners. At the same time, the company’s name and form changed to Visit Inari Oy (LLC)

Nowadays Tapani’s wife Pirjo and their four sons are also working for the company. Besides the family, Visit Inari Oy employs around 30 other tourism industry professionals. Visit Inari offers year-round adventure services as well as accommodation; there are 53 rooms/apartments in Hotel Inari, and 37 cabins in Holiday Village Inari

Most of our employees are local to Inari area and have comprehensive experience of the tourism industry. This basis allows us to offer our guests quality experiences and services, uniquely. We bring the authentic arctic nature and culture for our customers to experience, year-round. Visit Inari is constantly developing new and versatile ways to widen the experiences available to our guests,  securely and by exceeding expectations. We are building a future together with an experienced and dedicated staff, with the stable warmth and flexibility of a family business. – Tapani Lappalainen CEO / Founder / Head of family

Sustainability

Sustainability in Visit Inari

We at Visit Inari are happy to do our part in making sure both the current and coming generations have a clean and stable place to live in. We owe this to our children and grandchildren, who should not have to worry about the stability of our shared climate and surroundings.

Our whole team takes great pride in our work to make sure we operate responsibly, safely and with equality in mind. The surrounding nature and culture deserves our respect, and we’ll gladly oblige with concrete deeds, including but not limited to:

  • Decreasing our total energy and water consumption
  • Sorting our litter and other refuse, as well as recycling whenever possible
  • Commitment to co-operate with local subcontractors
  • Welcoming people of all ethnicities, nationalities, and cultural backgrounds equally and with respect
  • Commitment to the use of local foods and goods
  • Strives toward long and lasting employment relationships

In our mission to ensure cultural sustainability, we are also proud to follow the ethical instructions of the Sámi Parliament of Finland regarding tourism in the Sámi region.

Quality accommodation and services year-around

Our aim at Visit Inari is to offer quality accommodation and other services year-round.

With our last project we are building 15 high-quality Iceberg-cabins with ensuite sauna to
Holiday Village Inari.

New capacity brought by the investment project opens up new possibilities to reach international guests on both b2b and b2c markets. As part of the project services will be marketed through international events and sales workshops.

This project is Co-funded by the European Union.
